OM GROUP #68 ON 2021 INC. 5000 NY METRO LIST OF FASTEST-GROWING COMPANIESMarch 17, 2021

PISCATAWAY, NJ (March 17, 2021) – OM Group earned the number 68 spot on the 2021 Inc. 5000 Regionals: NY Metro list of the fastest-growing private companies. This accolade comes on the heels of the company’s debut in 2020 on the national Inc. 5000 list at number 643.

“We are so proud of the OM Group team who supported our growth with their outstanding performance even as they adjusted to Covid by working from home and juggling personal responsibilities like homeschooling their children and caring for aging parents,” CEO Sowmya Hariharan said. “Without their extraordinary efforts, OM Group could not have sustained its growth.”

OM Group’s growth of 147-percent over the past three years also earned the company a top spot in the government IT contracting industry according to Washington Technology’s Fast 50. OM Group debuted on that list at number three on its most recent list in 2020.

“OM Group’s growth is a reflection of the trust our team has built over the past few years with our successful partnerships throughout the US Department of Defense,” Chief Operating Officer Sangita Subramanian said. “Beginning with our cloud migration project for the US Army Headquarters that saved 31 percent in operational costs, our team has proven its skills and earned spots on contracts to modernize systems for the Army Corps of Engineers and the Army Material Command. We expanded to the Air Force where we are part of its AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research contract and its Small Business Enterprise Applications Support contract. We also serve on the US Navy’s Enterprise Computer and Information Technology Services contract with Naval Facilities Command.”

OM Group leadership attributes the company’s success as a small business to its ability to establish credibility with customers by being agile, decisive and responsive. These attributes allow OM Group to be a trusted digital transformation partner; a credible source that prepares its customers for the future; and a partner who adapts, transforms and grows its capabilities by investing significantly in R&D to grow its technical capabilities.

“The key to our success is our unique commitment to IT research and development,” Chief Technology Officer Mahesh Srinivasan said. “Establishing an R&D team early in OM Group’s development helped drive a culture of innovation throughout our organization. Team members are encouraged to test their skills on real-world problems. Lessons learned in this controlled environment are then rolled out to customers when appropriate.”
